Christopher Shannon Pageant Productions
Chris Shannon is celebrating his 18th year as a pageant director. His pageant career actually began in high school when he served as editor of the yearbook. One of his responsibilities was to produce the school pageant. He directed his first pageant on his own in 1990 at the age of 18. In 1991, at the age of 19, he became one of the youngest preliminiary pageant Executive Directors in the Miss Mississippi and Miss America Organization. He remained a local director for five years. In 1993, he began Mississippi's Pageant Update, which is Mississippi's only pageant publication. In 1995, he became the state director for the Mrs. Mississippi United States Pageant. He remained with that system for four years and was awarded the National Pageant's State Director Award. In 1996, he became a local director for the Miss USA Pageant system and remained with that organization for five years. In the year of 2000, Chris started his own state and national pageants which have grown to the biggest pageants in the state of Mississippi. Both the Mississippi Southern Magnolia and the Miss Mississippi Magnolia State/Wife of the Year Pageants each draw over 100 contestants per year. Also Chris has been named the state director for the Miss Mississippi Teen America Pageant in 2003. Chris directs the Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana Teen America Pageants. He also co-directs the Miss Florida Teen America Pageant.
