The winner of the first Miss Mississippi Magnolia State title was Rebecca Moulder representing Yazoo County. Her alternates that year, from left to right, were Mimi Chassaniol, Miss Capital City, 4th alternate;  Beverly Sisson, Miss Hattiesburg, 2nd alternate; Moulder; Allyce Griffin, Miss Metro Jackson, 3rd alternate; and Felicia Clanton, Miss Wayne County, 1st alternate.

This pageant has grown into one of the largest Miss Pageants in the state of Mississippi.
Rebecca makes an appearance in her hometown of Yazoo City with Southern Magnolia National Queen, Megan Irby.
Hunter Shannon poses  with the judges during the 2001 state pageant. One of the judges was Robyn Davis that year. She later went on to be named first alternate to Miss Mississippi.
